The Surrogacy Journey with SurrogacyUK: hear from our surrogates
March 2025
SurrogacyUK
Becoming a surrogate is a life-changing experience, filled with excitement, questions, and a strong sense of purpose. At SurrogacyUK, we strive to make the journey as seamless and supportive as possible. But don’t just take our word for it – hear directly from our recent applicants and experienced surrogates about their experiences with the SurrogacyUK community.
A Supportive and Streamlined Application Process
Many potential surrogates wonder what the application process at SurrogacyUK entails. Is it complicated? Does it take months to complete? Our recent applicants share their experiences:
“I found the application process for SurrogacyUK to be supportive and straightforward. There weren’t any ridiculously long forms to fill out or unrealistic expectations, and I became a member sooner than I thought. Chloe was always responsive and able to answer any questions I had, so I always felt informed.”
“One thing I was surprised about is the speed of the application. I thought it would take much longer than it did! It was really easy and straightforward, the team provided lots of support and knowledge along the way.”
For some, joining SurrogacyUK is the start of an evolving journey. One applicant initially joined as a known egg donor before deciding to take the next step as a surrogate:
“I joined SurrogacyUK initially as a KED (known egg donor) but now I have chosen to start my journey as a Surrogate. So far, my experience with SurrogacyUK has been super positive. Chloe was incredibly supportive, friendly, and easygoing, and very understanding of my difficulty in juggling the onboarding tasks with a busy home life. There is a lot of information at first, and it can be overwhelming, but all the team have been so helpful and patient with me throughout. I feel very safe in their hands!”
A Thriving Community and Lifelong Friendships
Surrogacy is not just about carrying a baby for someone – it’s about relationships, trust, and lifelong bonds. Many of our surrogates form incredible connections with both their intended parents and the wider SurrogacyUK community.
“Surro sisters united by a shared dream. Met by chance, friends by choice.”
For some surrogates, the community aspect is just as important as the journey itself:
“I always knew I wanted to be a surrogate. I knew I’d need a community, a trusting relationship with the intended parents and experienced guidance. I found that and so much more with SurrogacyUK. I have made friends for life in the community, my IPs have become extended family, and I’m grateful to be able to share my experience to help others.”

Building Meaningful Connections with Intended Parents
The relationship between surrogates and intended parents is at the heart of every journey. Many of our surrogates describe how they formed strong, enduring friendships with their IPs:
“I met my IPs at social, and it felt like we had always been friends from the beginning. We had an amazing GTK, and the IPs made embryos whilst we continued spending quality time together. Nine months after first meeting, we were ready for transfer. Our relationship continued through the pregnancy. We had so many lovely memories together as a team. My surro-babe is now 19 months old, and our friendship is still great. The contact has naturally reduced to a long-distance friendship as expected. We speak weekly, share photos, and have catch-ups, and we meet up in person when we can. In the first year post-birth, we met up around six times. I know we will be friends forever, and I love watching their little girl grow up. We don’t have the direct intense relationship from our journey anymore, but a lasting bond is there between us, and only warmth fills my heart when I see photos of them all.”
Friendship First: A Community of Support
SurrogacyUK is built on the foundation of friendship and mutual respect. Many of our surrogates form friendships beyond their immediate teams, creating a wider network of support and understanding.
“I have made so many friendships with SUK members in the community outside of my teams. I speak with my friends in the community regularly. Most are still active IPs hoping to meet a surrogate, but we’ve made genuine friendships outside of a surrogacy relationship. Some are my now closest friends. At first, when I joined the community, I avoided making friends with IPs I wasn’t in a GTK/team with, but last year I realised this community is about friendship first. It should be encouraged to make friends with all, even though you can’t help everyone. I’m glad I did, as my life has become so enriched with amazing people from the community. There are no expectations, and there is respect for both sides’ journeys.”
At SurrogacyUK, we prioritise relationships, trust, and community. If you’re considering becoming a surrogate and want to learn more, we invite you to schedule a discovery call with our Surrogate Applications Coordinator.
