A Faster, More Accessible Way to Begin Your Surrogacy Journey
We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve streamlined our surrogate application process, making it quicker and more accessible than ever before. Our new process ensures that surrogates can complete the necessary checks within 4-6 weeks, though we have seen some surrogates finish even quicker. This streamlined approach maintains our high standards while making the journey more efficient. Best of all, you can now complete the entire process from your phone, making it as convenient as possible!
Step 1: Submit Your Application
The first step is simple – fill out our online application form. Once submitted, our Surrogate Applications Coordinator, Chloe, will get in touch to arrange your welcome call. This is your chance to ask any questions, share your motivations for becoming a surrogate, and get a deeper understanding of the process.
Welcome calls are scheduled at a time that works best for you, with flexible options to fit around your schedule, making it easier than ever to take your first step into surrogacy.
Step 2: Completing Your Application
After your welcome call, a few key steps will finalise your application:
ID Verification & DBS Check – Our user-friendly online portal makes this process seamless. Your ID can be verified digitally, and we receive confirmation directly, so you won’t need to send us a copy of your certificate.
Health & Wellness Assessment – Simply complete our online form and follow the instructions to request any additional details from your GP.
Welfare of the Child – This is an online form required for all members, ensuring ethical surrogacy practices that prioritise the well-being of children born through surrogacy.
Preparing for Surrogacy Workshop – This vital session equips you with all the information you need to make informed decisions. The workshop is divided into two parts:
Part 1: A pre-recorded session you can watch at your convenience.
Part 2: A one-to-one video call (for you and your partner, if applicable) to wrap up your application and answer any remaining questions.
Step 3: Joining the Community
While completing your application, you’ll be invited to attend our in-person and online socials—a fantastic opportunity to connect with other surrogates, known egg donors, and intended parents.
We understand that joining a new community can feel daunting, which is why we offer a buddy system for your first social event. If you’d like a buddy to introduce you to others and help you settle in, just let us know when booking.
As a new surrogate, you’ll also be allocated a surrogate mentor—an experienced surrogate who will guide you through the process, ensuring you have all the information and support you need to start your journey with confidence.
By joining SurrogacyUK, you’re becoming part of a supportive community of like-minded women who share a passion for helping others build their families. The friendships and connections formed through surrogacy often last a lifetime, providing emotional support, shared experiences, and a sense of belonging throughout your journey.
Our application process is designed to support you every step of the way, providing all the information and guidance you need to make the best decision for you and your family.
Meet Chloe: Your Surrogate Applications Coordinator
Hi, I’m Chloe, SurrogacyUK’s Surrogate Applications Coordinator. I’ve been a surrogate with SurrogacyUK for almost nine years, and in January 2024, I joined the SUK team to support new applicants at the start of their surrogacy journey.
My journey into surrogacy began with a simple but powerful realisation: many amazing people face barriers to parenthood through no fault of their own. Seeing close friends in the LGBTQIA+ community express their dreams of becoming parents made me wonder how I could help. Then, after having my first daughter, I felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude—yet also a deep awareness that not everyone gets the same chance to experience parenthood. That’s when I discovered surrogacy.
I chose SurrogacyUK for its friendship-first ethos, its respect for my autonomy, and the guidance from experienced surrogates who had been through the process before me. Acting on their advice, I waited until my family was complete before applying again, and now, nearly a decade later, I’ve had the incredible privilege of carrying three surrobabies (now aged 7, 6, and 4).
The Surrogacy Experience: More Than Just a Journey
Surrogacy isn’t just about creating families—it transforms lives, including the surrogate’s. The connections I’ve made through this process go beyond surrogacy; they’ve become lifelong friendships. My children have grown up with more people to love them, and we’ve learned the true meaning of community and inclusivity.
Our team gatherings are no longer about surrogacy—they’re just friends meeting up, sharing laughs over coffee while our kids play together. Whether it’s a catch-up at a trampoline park, a McDonald’s run, or visiting our intended parents in their new home, these relationships have enriched our lives in ways I never expected.
One of our favourite events is the SurrogacyUK Conference. My husband and children love spending time with other surrogate families who truly understand their unique experience. The support among surrogate partners is truly special, and my eldest daughter even took part in a panel at the 2024 conference, sharing her experiences as a child of a surrogate. Surrogacy touches all members of a surrogate’s family, and SurrogacyUK welcomes and includes everyone in this incredible journey.
If you’re considering surrogacy, know this: it’s a journey filled with support, love, and lifelong connections. And I’m here to help you take that first step.
If surrogacy is something you’re considering, we’d love to hear from you! Apply today, and let’s start this incredible journey together.
