SurrogacyUK celebrates National Surrogacy Week: Share your inspiring story!

27th June 2023

SurrogacyUK

We are thrilled to announce the upcoming National Surrogacy Week, a time dedicated to celebrating the incredible journeys and heartwarming stories within our surrogacy community. This is a fantastic opportunity for us to raise awareness, educate, and humanise surrogacy for the general public.

SurrogacyUK has always been committed to promoting understanding, compassion, and respect for all individuals involved in surrogacy. By sharing your stories, whether as a surrogate, an intended parent in a team, an intended parent awaiting a surrogate, or a family completed by surrogacy, you can play a crucial role in breaking down misconceptions and helping others comprehend the profound impact of surrogacy on lives.

We understand that surrogacy is a deeply personal journey, and we want to assure you that your privacy is our utmost priority. Your stories can be published anonymously and without photographs, ensuring that you have full control over your level of disclosure. What matters most is the power of your narrative and the opportunity to create meaningful connections with the wider public.

It is important to acknowledge that the ongoing legal reform has brought forth opposition groups who may challenge the positive impact of surrogacy. However, we firmly believe that the voices and experiences of our members can help educate and inform the general public about the immense value of surrogacy and the need for reform.

By sharing your personal surrogacy stories, you can help dispel myths and supply genuine insights into how surrogacy truly works. Each story is a chance to demonstrate the compassion, selflessness, and love that underpin the surrogacy journey, and how it transforms the lives of all those involved. Your stories will be a powerful tool for inspiring change and fostering a society that appreciates the importance of surrogacy.

National Surrogacy Week serves as a reminder of the strength and resilience within our community. It allows us to come together, celebrate the diversity of our experiences, and advocate for the positive impact of surrogacy. Your participation will not only educate the public but also provide comfort and support to those who may be considering surrogacy as a path to creating their own families.

To share your story or find out more information, please contact sarah.jones@surrogacyuk.org before Sunday 16th July to arrange an informal chat.

We encourage you to be as open and honest as you feel comfortable, as every story has the power to make a difference.

Let us stand together during National Surrogacy Week and amplify our voices to build a better understanding of surrogacy. Together, we can shape a more compassionate and inclusive future for surrogacy, where everyone’s dreams of having a family can come true.
