About us
SurrogacyUK was formed in 2002, by a group of experienced surrogates who believed that a successful journey for both surrogates and intended parent(s) was one based on trust, mutual respect and, above all, friendship
The Board of Trustees, in conjunction with the SurrogacyUK membership produce a strategy document which guides the course of the organisation, keeping in mind our Vision, Mission and Values.
Since 2002 SurrogacyUK has grown to include over 250 active surrogates, 1000 intended parent(s) and a huge community of parents through surrogacy who remain members of SurrogacyUK to celebrate the special way their child came into the world.
SurrogacyUK continues to thrive, with over 360* babies born since it began, the ethos of “Friendship First” that began with a handful of surrogates so many years ago continues to resonate strongly with those interested in surrogacy.

All of our board members, staff, support workers and volunteers have first-hand experience of surrogacy. This gives our professionals a unique and necessary understanding of surrogacy on a personal basis.
This means they are better equipped to deal with those undergoing surrogacy, providing an experienced and compassionate perspective. They all have a passion for ethical, altruistic surrogacy and this shows through the exceptional quality of their work with our members.

Commitment to
Ethical Surrogacy
SurrogacyUK’s guiding mission is “To create, complete and support families through ethical surrogacy. It shapes the way we run the organisation, and is an ever present consideration when making key decisions.
SurrogacyUK believe and will always believe in altruistic surrogacy only. We will never advocate commercial surrogacy in the UK. We believe it is unethical for any organisation or person to profit through surrogacy.
Not for Profit
SurrogacyUK is a not for profit organisation. Although we pay our administration staff, the Board of Trustees and the Advisory Board all work voluntarily – such is our passion for surrogacy.
